Eliza's 9th birthday was a few weeks ago, and she wanted a "Garden Party with lots of color and pizza". When we were planning her party, I thought we would still be living in our little country home, and had planned an outdoor spring party by the creek with twinkle light hanging from a tree.
And topped with pixie dust.
That wasn't what happened though, so I decided we would put our energy into fun goodie bags for her guests instead of gussy-ing up the yard. Eliza & I sat down on my bed one night and whipped these up from things I had in my paper crafting collection. They pulled double duty, decoration and party favor. The girls loved them!
Do you ever plan a birthday cake that is UH-mazing in your head and then you make it? I will take credit for indivually cutting each heart out of white chocolate, they were tasty. But in my mind, this cake was bridal quality. And then I was reminded of why I have resorted to cupcake stands for the last several years. :)
